The Government has committed to giving access to 2Mbps download speed to every premises in the UK from the end of 2015. As part of this commitment, local bodies in conjunction with Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) are making available the option of a subsidised broadband installation for eligible premises.

You will only be eligible if your premises does not have access to speeds of more than 2Mbps. Note: as well as the major broadband networks such as BT Openreach and Virgin Media, you may also be able to get a basic broadband service from other suppliers who have coverage within the area.
Signa Technologies Ltd, has been approved as a supplier under the Better Broadband Scheme for North Yorkshire.
What this grant pays for is the installation costs to connect your property to the internet with a service of at least 10Mpbs. The installation covers the cost of the antenna, cabling, router and labour, it does not pay for the annual subscriptions. Customers are required to sign up for a 12-month contract. After the 12-months has passed, you can upgrade to the next package should you wish.

Once you have checked you are eligible using the dslchecker, you will need to apply for the subsidy code.
If you are eligible you will be sent an email with a subsidy code and instructions on how to get a subsidised installation. Superfast NY aim to respond to all applications within two weeks.
