As a place of entertainment be it an adventure park or a outdoor sports facility, chances are your customers expect to get access to the internet whilst they visit your facilities. However, even in this day and age many businesses, particularly in rural locations, struggle to get access to high speed broadband services. This can be due to the national network being unable to provide such connections, or the cost to get it installed is too high and uneconomical. Another problem for businesses is that once they have access to the connection they may not have the technical knowledge to be able to distribute it across their estate to give services such as WiFi hotspot or fixed wireless access.
This is where Signa Technologies can help. With over 20 years of industry knowledge and experience in the broadband field, particularly specialising in design and installation of wireless networks in some of the most rural parts of the country, Signa has a few tricks up its sleeve in terms of bringing a solid broadband backhaul (internet connection) into a customer’s site, and then distributing the connection across their estate to meet their requirements for service offerings to their customers. This is done in a cost effective and unobtrusive manner, working with the site managers to build a network that suits the aesthetics of the site as well as the functionality of the network.

PARTNERSHIP TAKES HARROGATE TOWN TO THE NEXT DIVISION
As part of their preparations for their first season of professional football after being promoted to the Vanarama National League North, Harrogate Town AFC has made huge strides to improving the fan experience by providing a free WiFi hotspot service, as well as improving the internet connectivity generally to their stadium.
Signa Technologies, working in partnership with Strata, has installed WiFi hotspots and fixed internet services using the latest fibre and wireless technologies to the CNG stadium, home of Harrogate Town Football Club.
Garry Plant, Managing Director of the CNG Stadium said “we’ve invested a lot of money over the last couple of years to improve services for fans across the board. With projects such as the new West Terrace stand, which provides toilet facilities and a snack bar service, new CCTV coverage to improve security, and now the WiFi Hotspots service, we hope will improve the experience for the fans who continue to support the club.”
Harrogate Town AFC have under gone these continued improvements to not only meet the requirements by FIFA after gaining FIFA quality pro status for their 3G pitch, but more importantly to take their fans on this exciting journey with them.
Strata, who owns the majority share in the club, have project managed the latest initiative. Ashley Hare, Network Consultant for Strata said “we were responsible for bringing the different elements of this phase of the improvements together. We also designed the network in partnership with Signa to deliver the best experience for the fans, press and the club. We are delighted with the results and look forward to working with them on future projects.”
Martyn Boswell, Managing Director of Signa Technologies stated “Signa have been brought in for their wireless expertise to work with Strata to design and install a network that will give maximum coverage for the fans. The fans and press will now be able to upload photographs or access social media etc, during their time at the stadium, and the service will improve working conditions for the CNG Stadium staff so they can use the internet more effectively.”
